Steven dedicates his birthday to help end animal cruelty with this amazing quote:

“I dedicate my birthday to humankind that they may be inspired, educated and moved to respect all animals of the land, the sea and the air, to refrain from any methods which inflict pain and cruelty on innocent animals. And to give thanks and blessings that the world is so full of these most incredible, beautiful and miraculous creatures whom we should hold in awe. And to the billions of creatures already sacrificed upon the altar of selfishness and greed. May they forgive us.”

After a career in Hollywood playing the archetypal villains in A Clockwork Orange, Octopussy, Beverly Hills Cop, Rambo and The Krays, Steven’s work as a playwright and director have brought him international acclaim. The many stage adaptations he has created, directed and toured include Kafka's Metamorphosis and The Trial, Agamemnon after Aeschylus, and Poe's The Fall of the House of Usher. He has directed and toured productions of Shakespeare's Coriolanus also playing the title role, Richard II, Hamlet and Macbeth, as well as Oscar Wilde's Salome.

Last year, he directed an acclaimed Edinburgh Festival production of Sophocles’ Oedipus starring stage and screen actress Anita Dobson (who also happens to be married to OneKind patron Brian May).
