OneKind, together with Young Scot, is launching the 100 for OneKind fundraising competition for 18 to 26 year olds.
2012 marks OneKind’s 100th Birthday, and in celebration we’re launching 100 for OneKind for the chance for a young person to win a week volunteering on an animal sanctuary in Thailand.
100 for OneKind is a fantastic way for people aged 18 to 26 to get involved with saving animals’ lives, with the chance to win a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Thailand to work first hand to care for wild animals. Everyone who takes part will receive Young Scot Reward points, as well as make a huge difference to the lives of vulnerable animals by fundraising for OneKind’s campaigns to end animal cruelty in our 100th birthday year.
We’re asking you to fundraise £100 or more to help our ambition to build a £1 million education programme to help children learn how
to treat animals with kindness and compassion.
Everyone who registers and raises £100 by 12 October 2012 will be entered in a prize draw to win the chance to travel to Thailand in November with other OneKind volunteers to help rescue and rehabilitate animals at a wildlife rescue sanctuary.
Everyone who takes part will also earn Young Scot Rewards points, in partnership with Young Scot, Scotland’s national youth information and citizenship charity. Young Scot points can be exchanged for exclusive rewards, ranging from BSM driving lessons to an all access visit to Edinburgh Castle.
OneKind’s Monkey and Tiger mascots were delighted to be joined by one of Scotland’s youngest councillors, Councillor Martin McElroy, in Kelvingrove Park on Friday to launch 100 for OneKind.
According to Councillor McElroy: “I’m delighted to support young people in Glasgow and across Scotland in becoming active citizens and volunteering to help charities. OneKind has a brilliant vision to reconnect people and animals through education, and I’m proud to support the 100 for OneKind competition to encourage young people to help animals at home and abroad.”
