Some ideas

OneKind Acts are small, simple things people can do every day to protect animals and raise awareness that animals think and feel just like us.

  1. My OneKind Act is to put a spider out of the house instead of killing it or flushing it down the plughole.
  2. My OneKind Act is to spend time with children educating them about animals, reading them animal stories and helping them understand that animals have feelings too.
  3. My OneKind Act is when I see an injured animal in the road, to make a point of stopping and moving it to safety. Then calling the RSPCA and reporting it.
  4. My OneKind Act is to offer elderly relatives or neighbours help in caring for their pets, i.e. taking their dog for walk.
  5. My OneKind Act is to always use a humane mousetrap and to make sure I release the mouse safely back into the wild afterwards.
  6. My OneKind Act is to set up a recycling box in the office for old printer cartridges and mobile phones and to then donate them to OneKind.
  7. My OneKind Act is to host a ‘vegetarian’ or ‘vegan’ brunch one day for a group of friends, just to let them try something different.
  8. My OneKind Act is to organise a ‘pampered pet’ day that lets us share some quality time together.
  9. My OneKind Act is to buy animal-friendly products like cosmetics or toiletries that haven’t ben tested on animals.
  10. My OneKind Act is to ask friends and family to make a donation to OneKind as a birthday or Xmas gift for me.
  11. My OneKind Act is to put an animal feeder in my garden in winter to ensure animals have something to eat.
  12. My OneKind Act is to buy synthetic pillows rather than feather pillows.
  13. My OneKind Act is to support animal-friendly campaigns such as OneKind’s Snare-Free Country campaign; and to send a OneKind Animail to show my support.
  14. My OneKind Act is to watch a nature programme for a change instead of my usual TV shows.
  15. My OneKind Act is to send a Tweet from my Twitter account asking my friends to support OneKind.
  16. My OneKind Act is to donate old blankets and towels to animal homes and rescue centres.
  17. My OneKind Act is to dispose of litter properly, which not only helps the environment but ensures animals don’t eat things that can harm them.
  18. My OneKind Act is to ensure my pet goes in to the vets for a regular health ‘check-up’.
  19. My OneKind Act is to plant flowers and plants to attract bees and butterflies, i.e. buddleia, lavender, thyme.
  20. My OneKind Act is to tell my pets how much I love them, every day.
