Pet Origins Survey

Pets are part of many families. But unlike other members of the family, most companion animals come to us by a commercial route.
A puppy may be cute and appealing, but his bright eyes may conceal the fact that he was born in a filthy puppy farm, to a mother forced to breed far too early, and far too often. The enigmatic green iguana may have come from an intensive captive farming system in South America, or the tortoise may have been captured from the wild and transported thousands of miles, to be sold into the European pet trade. The law has not kept up to date with all the new channels for trading animals.
While we continue to lobby for improved legislation, the OneKind Pet Origins campaign will examine the diverse sources that our pets come from, and find out how much we know about their origins.
Take part in our online survey below and tell us where YOUR pet came from, and whether you think it had a good or bad start in life.
