Snare-Free Country
We need your help to make Scotland snare-free

Imagine a countryside where wild animals such as rabbits, foxes, badgers and otters are free to roam, live and play in safety. People can walk their dogs and let their cats out in the knowledge that they will return safe and sound. This is our vision of a snare-free country. We need your help to make this vision a reality.
Snares are thin wire nooses used by some shooting estates and farmers to trap animals deemed to be ‘pests’ such as rabbits and foxes. In reality though, any animal is at risk, including protected wild animals such as badgers, otters and wildcats and even our beloved pet cats and dogs. Snares have no place in a modern civilised country.
We have launched a new initiative called SnareWatch - an information-sharing and reporting facility about snaring in the UK. If you have any concerns about snares, you can report them here.
