Between 15 and 24 November 2012, take part in an unforgettable challenge to save wild animals and their habitat from destruction. Sign up today, and you will have the chance to spend a week caring for an amazing variety of over 300 rescued animals, including 5 different species of macaque, 2 species of gibbon, civets, a tiger, sun bears and Asiatic black bears, a crocodile and exotic birds.
The sanctuary focuses on rehabilitating captive or domesticated animals and, if possible, preparing them for a reintroduction to their natural habitats. It also provides a permanent sanctuary for life for those animals no-one else is prepared to care for, including sick and disabled animals.
There's no typical day at the Wildlife Rescue Centre in Thayang, in south Thailand, but as part of this challenge you will feed animals and clean enclosures, work on enclosure maintenance and enrichment, and give tours to help visitors understand the work of the sanctuary. Although you'll work very closely with the animals, there is a strict 'hands off' policy whereby no physical contact is allowed with the animals to help their rehabilitation and maintain a safe working environment.
To take part in OneKind's Wildlife Rescue Challenge, you need to raise a minimum sponsorship of £2,500.
Not only will you be making a major contribution to the welfare of animals in Thailand with this work; you will also help raise funds to directly support the sanctuary where the challenge is based and to support OneKind's campaigns to end animal cruelty.
Spaces are strictly limited so register your interest now.
