Ban farmed animal cages

In the UK, significant numbers of pigs and egg-laying hens are often kept in small cages for the entirety or substantial parts of their lives.  

This confinement restricts them from exhibiting many of their natural behaviors and instincts. 

60% of mother pigs in the UK are confined in farrowing crates so restrictive that the pigs cannot even turn around. And millions of egg-laying hens are confined to cages with a space barely larger than an A4 piece of paper per hen. They cannot run, fly or even experience fresh air and sunlight. 

We are campaigning the Scottish Government to ban both farrowing crates and ‘enriched’ cages for egg-laying hens.
