Pledge your support today: back the bill to ban dog racing by 30th April

Greyhound with trainer

This is a final call for you to pledge your support for MSP Mark Ruskell’s Proposed Prohibition Greyhound Racing (Scotland) Bill by 9am, Tuesday 30th April.

We urgently need everyone to back the main aims of this bill that would make it illegal to race dogs in Scotland.

This is a vital opportunity to secure a greyhound racing ban and it’s imperative that we demonstrate to the Scottish Government the public support for this proposed bill.

When each of the Unbound the Greyhound coalition organisations submit their consultation response, they will include the total number of pledges. Now, let’s get as many pledges as possible and secure this ban!

Thank you to everyone who has already backed this bill, incredibly, at the time of writing, we have gained over 9,000 pledges!

Take action for pigs and hens: respond to the consultation using our supporter guide

Pig looking out from a farrowing crate.

The Scottish Government is currently consulting on proposals to phase out cages for laying hens.

Whilst we welcome this news of course, the Government has omitted to consult on a phase out of farrowing crates for mother pigs. We cannot continue to allow pigs to suffer in the cramped, cruel cages that deprive the sow of her natural behaviours.

Can we count on you to show your support for a phase out to cages for egg-laying hens and mother pigs?

By using our supporter guide, it will only take you 15 minutes to do so but will help to amplify the voices of animals.

Appeal: support OneKind’s work for animals this spring

Fox resting in a field.

We have launched our latest appeal to ask for your help our ongoing work to protect animals from cruelty.

As we ask for your support, we have reflected on the recent achievements in animal welfare that we couldn’t have secured without your help. Whilst we have had some incredible victories for Scotland’s animals - such as a ban of the sport of fox hunting and the landmark banning of snare traps after decades of campaigning - we mustn’t become complacent.

This year, we are continuing our campaigns to end greyhound racing and phase out the use of farrowing crates for pigs in Scotland, and we will be researching and investigating the trade of exotic animals to create a campaign to tackle both the supply and demand of these complex animals.

Thank you so much for your ongoing support of our work!
