While being walked, the dog ran off to explore through the overgrown woodland which was around 50 metres from a public path. The dog's guardian became worried when she didn't return so searched the wood for her and found her trapped with the snare around her neck and wire tangled around her legs. The snare had been set on a 'rough path' through the woodland. Pheasants were seen in the undergrowth and feeders were situated nearby.
