In 2017, we celebrated the end to the use of wild animals in circuses in Scotland.

The Wild Animals in Travelling Circuses (Scotland) Act 2018 saw Scotland become the first country in the UK to ban the use of wild animals in circuses. 

Our work throughout the years showed strong public support for an end to wild animals in circuses in Scotland. Ahead of the 2016 elections, we commissioned a YouGov survey,* alongside other key animal welfare organisations, that revealed 75% of Scots supported an end to the use of wild animals in circuses.
