OneKind works every day to change attitudes to animals, whether at a domestic level – for example, by changes in diet – or at a national level, building on and improving our existing standards and regulations for animal welfare.

We think that these changes are more likely to come about if people understand more about how animals think, feel and behave. OneKind has therefore produced this report to help people in Scotland – consumers, animal welfare advocates, food producers and politicians – grow their recognition of farm animals as individuals and as sentient, emotional beings, rather than, simply, ‘units of production’.
